They have finally arrived! The whale spotting season has arrived and is in full swing at The Robberg in Plettenberg Bay. Some of the Southern Right Whales were spotted directly in front of Beachy Head Villa. Last week, some of the whales were photographed surfing the waves just off the shoreline of Robberg Beach.
They are here to mate and generally hang out, occasionally flopping a tail up, or sticking their heads out of the water to check out the humans.
Whale presence in the bay is from mid May to February with the southern right whales around from June to November, the migratory humpback whales arrive with their calves early November and stay until the end of February and we see them again during May and June.
