Star gazing, spa treatments, archery and night drives are also available under the guidance of professional game rangers. Wildlife that may be encountered during your game drives are: the "Big Five" - lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard; as well as cheetah, giraffe, zebra, jackals, wildebeest and plenty of antelope and bird species.

Bukela Game Lodge offers all-inclusive, luxury 5-star accommodation on a malaria free private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. The lodge is situated in rolling hills approximately 95 kilometers from Gqeberha, providing a tranquil escape and an authentic big 5 safari experience.
Accommodation comprises two Luxury King Suites, two Luxury King or Twin Suites, and 10 Luxury Safari Tents, accommodating up to 28 guests in total. The Luxury King Suites are furnished with a king-size bed that can be converted into two single beds and feature an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, spa bath, toilet, and washbasin. The Luxury King or Twin Suites contain a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet, and washbasin, and are separated from the main lodge by wooden walkways.
In-room facilities include air-conditioning, underfloor heating, a fireplace, a bar fridge, a private wooden deck, and an outdoor shower. The Luxury Safari Tents are furnished with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, toilet, and washbasin. These tents also feature air-conditioning, electric blankets, a minibar, a wood-burning fireplace, an open-plan lounge, and a viewing deck.
The reserve is home to abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, black and white rhinos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo, roaming freely over a 7,500-hectare malaria-free conservancy. On-site facilities include game drives to view the Big Five, guided walks, bird watching, and game viewing.
Travelling east on the N2 towards Grahamstown approximately an hour out of Port Elizabeth you will turn off to the right at the Karel Landman/Alexandria turn off and enter the Amakhala Game Reserve. Bukela is 10km down this road on the right hand side and clearly marked.
