Tsitsikamma Village Inn In Storms River And Transfrontier Parks Destinations

The historic Tsitsikamma Village Inn is set in the heart of Storms River Village, between Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth, and adds a unique “Village”-style accommodation option to our Garden Route itinerary. Established in 1946, the hotel is tucked against the lush Tsitsikamma forest, close to Storms River Mouth, in the Tsitsikamma National Park. Most of the rooms are situated around a typical Village green, and the buildings reflect many of the different building styles that were to be found in the Cape Colony during the 1800s. Owned and managed by the powerhouse team of Irma and Chris de Villiers, Tsitsikamma Village Inn is full of character, fun and warm hospitality. Eating options include the inimitable Marilyn’s 60s Diner and the in-house restaurant, Bacchus, and a new craft beer brewery on site offers a growing generation of craft beer drinkers a unique Tsitsikamma brew experience. Its setting near to the Storms River mouth and Tsitsikamma Forest mean that it’s ideal for nature lovers, hikers, mountain bikers and adventure-seekers. Tsitsikamma Village Inn also offers conferencing and team building facilities, and is an excellent business getaway, just over an hour from Port Elizabeth.

Transfrontier Parks Destinations (TFPD) brings into our portfolio an inspiring range of community-owned camps and lodges in world-renowned southern African parks and conservation areas. From !Xaus Lodge in the Kgaligadi Transfrontier Park, to Witsieshoek Lodge in the Drakensberg conservation area, to Machampane Wildnerness Camp in the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, TFPD specializes in bringing you authentic, “off-the-beaten-track” safari experiences, and creating opportunities for guests to meet the communities behind the lodges, and understand their way of life. At !Xaus Lodge, dune walks, visits to the local Bushmen at a re-created craft village, afternoon or evening game drives and telescopes to enjoy some of the best star-gazing in Southern Africa are all woven into the experience. Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge overlooks the Drakensberg’s world-renowned Sentinel Peak and Amphitheatre. At 2286m above sea level, the Lodge is the highest in the Northern Drakensberg, and offers unforgettable hiking and bird-watching experiences. To the east of Kruger, Machampane Wilderness Camp is an intimate 10-bed tented camp in the Mozambique sector of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. Unfenced and secluded, the camp offers a magnificent opportunity to see the untamed, natural African bush. Each of these destinations opens up new routes: watch this space for new Lion Roars routes!

It’s our privilege to work with such fantastic partners, and to bring these inspiring and authentic destinations into the Pride. We look forward to seeing you soon at one of these great places.
